The scale of change underway is profound; in addition to the new homes, British Land have created a significant new master- plan for the town centre, which is currently in the pipe line. A £34 million investment in Surrey Quays Shopping Centre has destined the area to become a shopping haven. Designed by Alan Camp Architects, Quebec Quarter comprises of seven distinct stepped blocks, finished with a composition of brick, GRC and timber cladding, a nod to the woodland and nearby award winning Stave Hill Ecological Park. The 151 Private Sale properties come with contemporary kitchens complete with smooth lacquered units and integrated, top-of-the-range AEG appliances. Pristine bathrooms have smart white sanitary ware by Roca and porcelain floor and wall tiles. Underfoot, floor finishes include quality engineered flooring in Oak Animoso to living areas and entrance halls, with luxurious carpets in soothing soapstone in the bedrooms. The light-filled apartments come with floor to ceiling windows. However, the highlight has to be the extensive outdoor decked terraces, offered by a number of the apartments – ideal for al fresco dining and entertaining. Those without terraces have generous balconies, with upper level properties enjoying spectacular views of the surrounding woodland and nearby Canary Wharf. Research commissioned by L&Q showed that property prices in the area rose by 19% in 2015, outperforming London averages, fuelled by a growing demand for homes and an on-going 10 year regeneration programme. Buyers can still get between 25 and 40% more square foot for home A place to call Quebec Quarter in Canada Water | p r o p e r t y |
