Lant Street Wines are hosting regular sessions in a chilled and stylish wine warehouse just by Borough station where you can sample a host of fine reds, whites and bubbles. At their June event, amongst their star wines, will be the Maison Plantevin Cote du Rhone, a new wine recently added to their portfolio. As it says on the tin: ‘A blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Carignan and 10% Cinsault and raised in stainless steel containers. Ripe raspberries, wild strawberries and a spice- laced bouquet, it’s medium bodied, supple and silky on the palate with bags of personality.’ Remember, these wines are not available anywhere else as the team at Lant Street have exclusive UK import relationships for almost 90% of the wines they stock, many of which (including the above mentioned Cote du Rhone) are certified organic/biodynamic. Guaranteed to be an excellent way to relax after work while enjoying a whole range of quality vintages in good company - perhaps even pick up one or two bottles to take home with you. 16 • THE RIVER SUMMER 2016 • FOOD & DRINK Summer tasting on Borough High Street by Owen Rice LANT STREET WINE 59-61 Lant Street Borough SE1 1QN t: 020 7357 7788 e: sales@lantstreetwine.com WINE tasting A SHOWCASE OF 30 WINES FROM VARIOUS REGIONS Date and time: 30 June, 6pm - 8pm Entry: £10 Discount of 10% for all wines purchased on the night
