Summer 2019

Dear Readers

Hello Summer…

As soon as the sun comes out it feels like half of London residents head out of town, leaving the roads quiet of cars and the pavements easier to stroll along.

Our health-specialists at bodytonic have outlined five great ways to get active including canal walks and the ‘Freecycle’ event early in August when an eight mile circuit of roads in central London are given over to cyclists.

We are delighted to welcome the Clarendon Hotel Blackheath as a new inclusion this issue who have opened their doors after an interior revamp by London designer Angela McNeill. It’s less than a two hour walk from Bermondsey Street to the hotel on Greenwich Park Blackheath, or just a thirty minute cycle: a perfect way of working up an appetite for Afternoon Tea or the Sunday Carvery. You can even plan a stop at the Fan Museum in Greenwich to see their current collection from the arts and antiques connoisseur, the late Gerard Levy.

For our readers in Blackheath, Greenwich and East Dulwich could the sunshine tempt you to wander into town, sampling the social scene at Vinegar Yard near Tower Bridge or the new local art on show at the London Bridge Hotel?

Whatever you choose to do, I hope the sun shines on you this season.

Yours

Angela Webb
