Top Results for Alleyn’s in 400th Anniversary Year

As Alleyn’s celebrates the 400th year of Edward Alleyn’s foundation of his School, the results provide yet more reason to be cheerful

Two delighted students from Alleyn’s celebrate a success this summer in the school’s anniversary year

Alleyn’s Founder Edward Alleyn would surely be proud as boys and girls at the school in Dulwich have achieved an impressive sweep of GCSE grades, continuing the School’s long-running tradition of academic success.

43% of all grades awarded to Alleyn’s pupils were at the highest possible Grade 9
71% of all grades awarded were at Grade 9 or 8
88% of all grades awarded were at Grade 9, 8 or 7
Almost a quarter of pupils gained at least ten Grade 8s or better

“In this, our anniversary year,” Headmaster Dr Savage said, “we can be sure that our Founder, Edward Alleyn, would be delighted with the way in which our boys and girls are able to perform to the highest academic standard while remaining level-headed, kind and caring young people.”

Alleyn’s is highly regarded for its holistic ethos and caring community within which boys and girls learn, grow and succeed together. The School is celebrating Alleyn’s 400 (the 400th anniversary of Edward Alleyn’s foundation of his College of God’s Gift in Dulwich) throughout 2019, marked both by commemorative events and an ambitious fundraising campaign to further increase the number of transformational bursary places for children who might not otherwise be able to attend this happy and successful school.
