opposite Southwark tube station, at the end of The Cut, a small eatery has been taken over and had new life breathed into it by the experienced restauranteurs Maddie Coles and Annie Diaz at Cafe Pronto on Blackfriars Road.

The result is a cosy and stylish place to take a coffee, enjoy a fine breakfast, a range of lunches including rotisserie chickens (slow roasted for 90 minutes), tasteful pasta dishes, ciabatta sandwiches and salads.

Served in immaculate surroundings the food is very fairly priced and there’s even a meeting room downstairs; this new addition to The Cut takes cafe-culture up to restaurant levels and demonstrates that this family-run business really knows how to cater for the people of SE1.
