‘Tis the season to be jolly but lingering coughs, colds and the winter blues can get in the way. Natalie Li explains how reflexology can help to alleviate these winter woes.

It’s seemingly the most wonderful time of the year but it can be the worst when it comes to our general health. The temperature dropping, the dark nights, Christmas party season and constant sniffles and hacking coughs can hit our health hard, leading to exhaustion.

Coughs, colds and bad backs have been blamed for a rise in the number of sick days taken by workers last year. The Office for National Statistics estimates that 141.4million working days were lost in the UK due to sickness and injury in 2018.

Reflexology is an effective therapy for alleviating the symptoms of coughs and colds. It promotes deep relaxation and can be beneficial in reducing stress levels and bring an improved sense of wellbeing. This non-intrusive complementary therapy is based on the theory that different points on your feet, lower leg, hands, face or ears connect with different areas of your body.

“I believe reflexology is
an incredible way of revealing
the stressors that are affecting your health

I believe reflexology is an incredible way of revealing the stressors that are affecting your health and why you may be feeling low. As a reflexologist I gain an understanding of why you are prone to coughs and colds. Stress makes it easier to catch colds and tougher to shake them off. I also talk to you about your sleep – examining why you may not be getting enough. Sleep and rest, as we all know but often ignore, is vital to fighting infection.

A reflexology treatment can stimulate reflexes on the feet to energise and generate a sense of balance. There can be no doubt that it provides relaxation and offers one-to-one attention and supportive touch in an empathetic listening environment. Reflexology can be used safely alongside standard healthcare to promote better health.
Do note that a reflexologist does not diagnose and does not claim to cure but can offer a relaxing treatment, encourage rest and self-healing and help to rebalance during challenging and busy periods in your life.

If you’re seeking a rejuvenating treatment why not book a session for yourself, family or friends in the comfort of your own home. Natalie Li Reflexology is offering a festive 20% discount during December 2019 and January 2020.
